In a post on Instagram, singer Britney Spears announced she’s planning to step back from social media.
In the post, which features a video of a baby lounging in a bathrobe, Spears posted the message: “I’m going on a social media hiatus for a little while !!! I send my love and God bless you all !!!” The message included heart and flower emojis.
The 40-year-old pop icon has more than 40 million followers on Instagram, and had recently used the platform to announce her pregnancy. She made the announcement on April 11, saying she and fiancé Sam Asghari were expecting a child, as we reported at the time. Spears has two older sons, ages 15 and 16, from her prior marriage to Kevin Federline.
Spears has been posting to social media regularly to keep fans informed about her life, and to speak out about her highly-publicized conservatorship, which ended last year, CNN reported.
Spears did not indicate how long her hiatus would be.
